Frequently Asked Questions, answered.
We understand that hiring a web designer can feel like a big task. Our job is to make it easier for you by being as honest and transparent as possible. These are our most frequently asked questions.
72 Design Studio FAQ
Most of our projects go from kickoff to launch in about two to three weeks. The biggest factor in that timeline is how quickly we can get the information we need from you, which is usually less than you think. We keep the process as straightforward as possible so that it does not become another thing competing for your attention.
We keep your involvement to a minimum. At the start of the project we will ask you some questions about your business, your goals, and your preferences. From there, we handle the writing, the design, and the build. We come back to you for feedback and approval, and then we launch. Most clients are surprised by how little is asked of them.
Sometimes, but usually not. When we sit down for your free consultation, we take a look at what you have and give you an honest assessment. If your existing site is close to where it needs to be, we will tell you that. If it makes more sense to start fresh, we will tell you that too. Either way, you will leave the conversation with a clear picture of where things stand and what your options are. Often the faster and more cost-effective path is a fresh build, especially if the current site was not built with conversion in mind to begin with. We will tell you which situation you are in rather than steering you toward the bigger project by default.
Yes, absolutely. If you already have a domain, we will connect it to your new site rather than asking you to buy another one. The only thing we need is access to your domain settings, usually through whoever you registered it with. If you are not sure who that is or how to find it, we will help you track it down. This step takes minutes on our end once we have what we need.
Most web designers are trying to impress you with what a website can look like. We are trying to figure out what your website needs to do. Those are different jobs, and they lead to different results.
Before we design a single page, we ask one question: what's the number one action you want a visitor to take? Everything else, the layout, the copy, the colors, gets built around that answer. A beautiful site that leaves visitors unsure of what to do next has not done its job. A visible phone number and a clear next step will outperform a fancy animation every time.
We write it. Our in-house copywriter has more than fifteen years of experience turning business owners' knowledge into copy that actually converts visitors. You will still have input, since nobody knows your business better than you do, but you will not be handed a blank page and asked to fill it.
This matters more than most people expect. A site can look sharp and still fail because the words on it are vague or generic. Clear, specific copy is often the difference between a visitor who leaves and one who picks up the phone.
We build every site with on-site SEO included, which covers the technical and structural work that helps search engines understand and rank your pages. This is not the same as a full ongoing SEO campaign. It gives your site a solid foundation to be found, and it means you are not starting from zero.
No. We offer ongoing maintenance plans that include hosting, so your site stays online, secure, and up to date without you having to think about it. If something breaks or needs a small update, that is on us to handle, not you.
No. If you do not have a logo, or the one you have does not feel right anymore, we can help with light branding work to get you something usable. We are not a full branding agency, so this is not a deep strategy exercise. It is enough to give your site a professional look without adding another project to your plate.
That is a more common starting point than you would think, and it is exactly what the consultation is for. We will walk through your business with you and help you land on the answer, whether that is booking a call, filling out a form, or picking up the phone. You do not need to arrive with this figured out. You just need to arrive willing to answer some questions.
Costs depend on the scope of your project, including the number of pages, whether you need copywriting or branding work, and whether you want ongoing maintenance. The clearest way to get an accurate number is the free consultation, where we can scope your specific situation instead of guessing at a range that may not apply to you.
Mostly answers, not homework. We will ask about your business, your customers, and what you want people to do when they land on your site. You do not need existing copy, photos, or a fully formed idea of what you want the site to look like. Bring what you know about your business, and we will handle the rest.
