The way we approach
design is very, very different.
Most businesses hire a web designer when what they really need is a proven marketing and sales expert, someone whose secondary skill just happens to be building websites.
What happens when you hire us to design a website for you?
If you've worked with a web designer before, you may have found that the entire process feels pretty vague. You reach out to them, get a proposal, and then "hurry up and wait." Here's the exact process we follow, from your first call to the day your site goes live.
01
Discovery
We start with a phone call and a short questionnaire about your business and your goals. You send over any assets you have that we couldn't acquire from your old site, assuming you have one (e.g., a high resolution image of your logo). This is also a good time to optionally alert us to any "hard requirements" you may have for your new site. This stage is where we nail down the #1 action you want visitors to take on your site, the one goal everything else gets built around.
02
Prototype
We build a working prototype of your site based on everything we learned during discovery. You'll see the actual layout and structure, built to move visitors toward that #1 action. Nothing is set in stone yet, but you'll know exactly where the site is headed at this point. Depending on your preferred level of involvement, we may have another call at this point — or you can just send us a thumbs up emoji 👍over email (we've had this before!).
03
Finalize
By this stage your feedback from the prototype is already baked in. We handle the last few details and confirm everything is ready to go. In almost every case, this step takes a day or two before we move to launch.
04
Launch
Once you give final approval, we launch your site. If you're hosting with us or on our managed maintenance plan, we deploy it to a fast global edge network, so pages load quickly for visitors no matter where they are. From there we handle updates, monitor performance, and cover everything else included in your maintenance plan.
This is controversial, but...
Your website isn't supposed to "look good."
It's nice if it does, but that isn't the point.
Put bluntly, your website is supposed to make you money.
At 72 Design Studio, we ask that you stop looking at your website as something that needs to be stunning, or sleek, or technologically impressive. Any designer worth their salt can give you that.
Instead, we ask that you start looking at your website as an advertisement.
At the end of the day, that's what it is. Every ad you've ever paid attention to had a job to do: get you to buy, call, sign up, or show up. None of them were trying to win a design award. Your website should work the same way.
When we sit down for your first conversation, we'll spend far more time discussing the single most important action a visitor can take on your website than talking about typography or color schemes. We'll cover those too, but they're a secondary concern.

Services we include with every web design project
We strip away everything that does not serve the sale. What remains is a lean machine that works while you sleep.
More information
Every service here exists to do one thing: bring you more customers.
75% of consumers will judge your company’s credibility based on your website design alone. We build visually polished, professional sites centered around one question: what's the #1 action you want visitors to take?
Potential customers are searching for you right now. The question is whether they find you or a competitor. We structure your pages, content, and site architecture so search engines rank you for the terms that bring in business.
A website full of jargon and vague claims reads like every competitor's site. Our in-house copywriter, with over 15 years of experience, writes copy specific to your business so visitors know exactly what makes you the right call.
Haven't claimed your Google Business Profile yet? We'll help you get set up so that you can be discovered by customers who are ready to buy, right in your local market.
Most business owners have footage sitting untouched on a phone or hard drive. We edit it into content your website can actually use, from testimonials to service walkthroughs.
A slow load time or a buried phone number can cost you a customer before they even start scrolling. We'll check your site for exactly that kind of thing and tell you what needs to be fixed.

Does your current website really "sell the benefits"?
Does your current website really "sell the benefits"?
Every marketer starting out gets one lesson beaten into them, assuming they had a good teacher. Sell the benefits, not the features.
Take a landscaping company. How do they win customers? Should their website talk about their fleet of top-of-the-line mowers, or how sharp their trimmers are?
No. Their website should show a family enjoying a backyard they don't have to think about.
The feature is the well-mowed grass. The benefit is that the person hiring them doesn't have to do it themselves. They get their weekend back, and a home they feel good about.
This understanding, paired with a goal-oriented design, can work wonders on the real-world results your website generates.
Are you ready to have a website that finally brings in more business?
Your website has one job. Let's make sure it does it well. Tell us the #1 action you want visitors to take, and we'll build a site around it.
